Thanks to Chris and Katie Younker for hosting last summer's gathering of Soo Lake property owners.  All property owners and friends of Soo Lake were invited and there was a good turn out.  

This summer's get together was at T J and Rhonda Dunn's home on Sunday, August 14 at 1:00 PM. 
 

	Ron Ekstein, a retired DNR wildlife specialist, presented an excellent slide show on eagles.  He is very informative regarding all sorts of Northwoods wildlife and we thank him for his insights and time spent with us.
	Mike Backes will report to us on the issue relating to the foul odor we experience when the wind blows our way from the county landfill.
	Mary Lewandowski updated us on the very thorough loon research that goes on from her home where she hosts a variety of loon ecology personnel every year to facilitate their important work.
	Thanks to Mary Padgett for doing the Secchi Disc monitoring for water clarity.  She determined that on a scale of 1 to 5 where 1 indicates "Beautiful, could not be any nicer", and 5 indicating "Swimming and esthetic parameters substantially reduced because of algal level", Soo Lake scores a 2.  This value indicates "Very minor esthetic issues, excellent for swimming and boating".  The disc was visible to the 9.5 foot depth.
